Clinic Visit,

Saw Michael Henaghen, had a little chat. Told him I had thrush in my bowel in which he gave me Fluconazole. Take 2x 50mg twice a day for two weeks. I also pointed out a lump on my belly and Michael told that it was a Herniawhich would cousre the pain. So Im now taking three lots of pain killers to ease the pain.

The pain is really bad to the point where I don't go out much (once a week at the mo) as when I move or stand for to long I get the pain. They can't operate because my liver is in such a bad way. They will repair it when I have my liver transplant, when ever that will be.

Back to kings clinic in two months. Next clinic at local in a months time.

Transplant Assessment - Hospital Stay,

Im stay'in on Dawson ward, I don't really like that ward, but got put in a small stuffy room with two other nice people.

Had loads of bloods taken one of which is'nt very nice, where thay take blood from a vain deep in your wrist, aches for days!

Has an X-Ray of my chest, an ultra sound to check blood vessals within the liver including the bile ducts etc. A lung test to check lung capacity for when Im on life support (I don't like it when they take you off that!!!), liver biopsy (not normally painfull, but this one was) the doc had trouble gett'in the needle in, ouch!

Im not going the mention the food, in fact I don't know how they can call it food. Exaple; I love my roast dinner and when Im stay'in hospital its the high light of the week (a little sad it my sound, but not a lot else to look forward to other than going home!). So I hunt through the menu guide looking for the roast dinner or gravy dinners. I find it and plan around it, ask for a VERY VERY LARGE SIZE in HUGE letters just incase they don't see it. When the day comes to size was less than a childs size! It was roast chicken (well I thing, could be wrong thou!), but could I find the bit of chicken? No... I got a bit of veg, roast potatos and... oh there's the chicken, its the size of small bouncy ball!!! No wonder why people loss weight in hospital! I had a go at the kitchen staff, didn't seem that bothered thou, so I went to the hospital canteen.

I met a few people while I was there, including the social worker, doctors, anaesthetist, liver co-ordinators.
Stayed in for about a week, in the end.

Got told by the doc's at Kings College that it's starting to look like another transplant as my levels just not getting any better and things have never been right from the start. I've gotta come back in a months time for a transplant assessment.

16th March 2004
Clinic Visit, Blood levels are coming down, (very slowly). No sign of reducing the pred to 10mgs, everything is going ok at the moment. I was given some sleeping tablets (tamazipan), which I'm sure you know of. Another drug I'll be addicted to other than the pain killers !!! But a lest I'll be able to have a good nights sleep.

Clini in three months or if something comes up.

1st April 2003 - 25th Jan 2004
Up-dated,
Sorry to those that read my diary and found that I haven't posted for about 10 months!! BUT no news is good news!!! and in my case that is 100% true.

No lot has happened over the 10 months. Been to clinic, had bloods done, etc. But just before christmas my blood levels went up a little and so my Prednisolone went up from 10mgs to 15mgs and still at that doseage. From my last visit to clinic my levels are getting better, so witha bit of luck they might reduce them to 10mgs, and my levels will stay like that for a few years I hope.

Other News, I'm still at college, finish in June this year at long last. I'm just getting tried of the college life and all the work. I just want to get on with my life, get a job and much needed money. My business is going well too, I make and sell personalised gifts to those of you who don't know, and you can visit the website via the AIH website or www.Gift-Factory.co.uk.

Anyway, I'll try and keep this diary up to date, but do remember that no news is good news and I wont give up without a bloody good fight what ever happens!!!

Take care everyone

1st April 2003
Clinic Visit and MRI Scan, I had my MRI Scan today at 11:30am and took just 20 - 30 minutes. I went to clinic at 3:00pm. The surgoen said that he'd wait to see what the results of the MRI Scan is, and then work from that. He also said that it's most likely that it's going to be an operation to put a stent in (I think thats what he was saying). Gotta go back on the 29th April.
